As a language reviewer specializing in transcriptions at Enlabeler, you will become part of the data revolution in Africa! The world we live in is fully reliant upon data and machine learning models to optimize the insights into data. In order for these models to work effectively, humans are needed now more than ever to help label datasets. Your primary responsibility will be reviewing the work and leading the quality standards of your labeler-peers. We are looking for people that have a keen interest for working with linguistics. Prior work experience in transcribing is required (minimum of 5 years transcribing and minimum of 2 years in reviewing) . You’ve got a high attention to detail and the ability to transcribe audio files with focus, concentration and accuracy. You will be successful in this position if you possess the ability to work on your own, maintain focus on the job and prioritise work appropriately with high levels of effective communication.

- In addition to being detail-oriented, reliable, and committed, he or she must have the ability to follow guidelines carefully and stick to the time slots for each task.
- You get excited by text and accuracy. You like to bring structure to work projects and breaking them down into tasks
- Together with the Project Manager, you’re responsible for the output of the transcribing teams, ensuring they are trained according to the project specifications, log-in to the platform on time and do their work to the standard. Support and manage them along the way.
- Strong communication with both labelers and stakeholders to effectively complete tasks.
- Fluency in multiple South African languages is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Select transcription tasks (we call them jobs) and review the audio according to the requirements and instructions. Keep sensitivity to the data used.
- Be very precise and complete each audio file with a high level of accuracy
- Review and report any issues related to unlabeled or incorrect data. Ask for help when needed!
- Performance based pay (performance based on deadline, quality, availability)
- Help train and guide new transcribers using the Enlabeler transcription platform and industry best practices.
Applicant requirements
- You are based in Cape Town or Johannesburg. (or willing to relocate)
- You’re able to focus, and work very precisely for consecutive 4-5 hours a day.
- You’ve got a high orientation to detail, are a patient, self-motivated worker who loves to learn new processes and technologies
- You are a strong communicator who can manage and lead a team of transcribers
- You’re open to learning and take guidelines and instructions seriously.
- You have a minimum experience of 5 yrs transcribing and min of 2 yrs in reviewing.
